I'm probably going to get in trouble for saying this, but...... The Fitness Industry is Unhealthy 😡 I don't say this because the fitness industry is trying to hurt us, but I say this because of the casualties that occur because of the polished reality lifestyle. When did fitness become only about what's on the surface and social media? I have to be honest when I say that I have talked to countless people who have developed eating disorders and other psychological impairments because of what is consistently rubbed in our faces on social media. I've even been told by some companies in the fitness industry that I "focus too much on health vs fitness." WHAT?! I didn't know their was much of a difference.... guess there is now in 2017. It's seeming like fitness is becoming more of a fad and less of a real lifestyle, and unfortunately that is going to make the attrition rate extremely high in the future. We all need to love and embrace our health and we need to take back control of the word "fitness." I'm not here to say that you need to not strive to be your best when it comes to your fitness and body composition, but I am here to say that you really have to look at the bigger picture. Fitness is not what you see on social media, it's what you make it. And if you can't translate that into other areas of your life, it's not really fitness. At that rate it is a superficial, self-serving mission to satisfy the ego. Do it so you feel good, so that you can be the best spouse or supporter, the best parent, the best coworker, the best human that contributes to the earth and humanity..... otherwise you're just another shirtless selfie selling your soul for likes :) ...
